Description
A colony-forming perennial, Great Blue Lobelia grows well in medium to wet soils, especially with a little shade. Deep blue-violet flowers on large spikes attract many bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds from late summer through fall. Up to 3′ tall.
Seedlings come in 3 1/8″ bio-degradable pots.
A word about native plants: perennial plants, often with deep roots. Transplant them carefully as they dislike root disturbance. They are slow growing, and will not flower until the second year or later.
