Among the earliest prairie flowers to bloom with creamy yellow pea-shaped flowers on branches often touching ground from the weight of the blooms. Can be damaged by wind and it needs support from companion plants. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Flowers are showier on dry sites. Height: 1-2′ with bushy habit.
Seedlings come in 3 1/8″ bio-degradable pots.
A word about native plants: perennial plants, often with deep roots. Transplant them carefully as they dislike root disturbance. They are slow growing, and will not flower until the second year (or later).
