Description

A lovely edition to shade gardens, the large blue and white flowers mature in early spring and last about a month attracting hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. Prefers partial shade (but will tolerate more sun with adequate moisture) and tolerates different soil types as long as it is well-drained. Short-lived perennial, but self-seeds readily in the garden. Native from Montana to Arizona and New Mexico.
Use this plant in naturalized areas, shady garden borders, rock gardens or native/pollinator gardens. Mature size: 2′ tall and 1′ wide.
Seedlings come in 3 1/8″ bio-degradable pots.

A word about native plants: perennial plants, often with deep roots. Transplant them carefully as they dislike root disturbance. They are slow growing, and will not flower until the second year (or later).
